It’s Back-to-School time for most kids AND teachers. While parents are focused on making sure they have their kiddos ready, teachers are busy prepping their classrooms. I worked in education for several years, and developed a deep appreciation for all the supplies needed to outfit classrooms.
From bulletin board decorations to help students feel welcome, classroom supplies to aid in fine motor skills, arts and crafts supplies, and more. Although some schools cover many supplies, the money just doesn’t stretch far enough, and many schools don’t provide ANY funding for classroom supplies!
Savings.com did research on out-of-pocket teacher spending and found only 25 percent of students are sent to school with all or most of what’s requested on back-to-school supply lists. This means most teachers wind up spending quite a bit of money out of their own pockets to either cover needed classroom supplies or to make sure students have everything they need.
